Joseph Glaubitz was the father of the four sons who immigrated to America. He was born about 1815 in Prussia, a culturally rich German state.
Marriage: According to "Mytrees.com" and and old thread of Charles Glaubitz had posted, Joseph Glaubitz married *Barbara Elizabeth Wandel [Wendel] in 1836 or 1840 in Hennersdorf, Duchy of Lauenburg, Prussia. Barbara Elizabeth's parents were Christian Wandel and Rosina Liebeneicher.
*NOTE: some sources name Carolyn Erman as Joseph's wife. He may have been married twice, so if you have any information, please let us know.
Children: We have no information on any daughters, but he had at least four sons. We believe they had five sons because MyTrees.com also shows a son named Joseph.
Four sons - Albert, August, Bruno and Emanuel immigrated to the United States at the turn of the 20th Century. The name, Glaubitz is misspelled in the first three entries in their Declaration of Intent for United States citizenship. This is explained 1) Many times the American taking the information was spelling phonetically. 2) the clerk was unfamiliar with the language of origin 3) handwriting was unclear many times.
Death: Joseph died about 1875 in Prussia at about the age of 60.
